How to use in different diseases
- Due to its astringent nature, it has been used to treat diarrhea.
- The dried powdered leaves were once used as a snuff for nasal obstruction and sinus headache.
- Coltsfoot leaves are used as a demulcent to relieve chronic and irritable cough.
- A decoction is to treat asthma. It should be taken one to two teaspoonfuls twice a day.
- Coltsfoot syrup is useful in chronic bronchitis.10 to 15 ml per day.
- The fresh bruised leaves can be applied to boils, abscesses and suppurating ulcers.
- Coltsfoot tea is also for coughs.
