Menopause is a condition representing end of reproductive stage in a female's life span. The cessation of menstruation at about age between 40-50 is called menopause.

What happens during menopause ?

Ovaries are the female hormones producing organ. The ovaries also produce the eggs for fertilization and formation of embryo after conception. The ovaries start to shrink and also stop producing the hormone – estrogen and others. Estrogen is a hormone which is really responsible to maintain female’s general well being, bone strength. Since the ovaries are not producing these hormones, the female becomes more prone to bone weakness and reduced bone marrow density.
