Anaemia is a decrease in your blood cell count, and/or decreased haemoglobin content in the blood. Since red blood cells are the ones responsible, for carrying oxygen to the cells via the haemoglobin, a lower amount, would mean low oxygen in all your body's tissues, and if you are pregnant your baby gets less oxygen as well. Anaemia can be caused by blood loss, which means that not enough red cells are being produced, or that too many red cells are being killed off. Home remedies for anaemia are a great solution.

Deficiency of iron is anaemia and this can happen due to various ailments. Internal haemorrhages can cause blood loss leading to anaemia. People suffering with piles lose blood in stools and suffer from anaemia. Hazardous diseases such as cancer cause anaemia especially after undergoing treatments by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Vitamin C deficiency also causes anaemia. People face this due to hereditary reasons as well.

Home Remedies for Anaemia

1. Beetroot

A very effective home remedy for anaemia is to mix a cup of beetroot as well as apple juice with honey and have it once a day. Beetroot is a rich source of carotene and iron. It aids those patients, who follow a vegetarian diet.

11. Apple Juice

Apple juice, mixed with either sugar or honey, should be taken at least once a day, for the treatment of anaemia.
