7 Ways to Avoid Dialysis and Kidney Failure

The kidneys are vital organs of our body as they filter out the toxins from our body. The urea and creatinine level is increased if the kidneys are not functioning properly and the need for dialysis or a renal transplant arises.

Despite a lot of advancement in the field of medicine, still there is no permanent cure for kidney failure. There are however certain natural ways to avoid dialysis and reduce urea and creatinine levels.

There are many reasons why the kidneys start to fail. One of them is Diabetes and another common cause is silent blood pressure, especially in young patients. There are some patients who suffer from kidney failure due to anti-gout drugs, pain killers and steroids.

Whatever is the cause, there are certain ayurvedic herbs to avoid dialysis and help in fighting kidney failure.

There are 7 Different Ways Described here to Avoid Dialysis

1. Control Underlying Condition

Keep your sugar and blood pressure in control (Underlying condition) – The underlying conditions like blood pressure or diabetes should be in perfect control. Both these diseases have strong relationship with thoughts and anxiety. It is very important to keep yourself calm, relaxed and free from worries.

2. Deep Breathing Exercises

There are deep breathing exercises in yoga called “Pranayama”. These exercises if done in morning time can help reduce the urea and creatinine levels. Keep the blood pressure and sugar in control. Remove toxins from the body and improve overall health.

3. Relaxercise

The yogic exercises to keep your body relaxed are very important. There are some yoga postures which can help to release the stiffness in the body, maintain the balance of stress hormones and ease the stress. I called them relaxercises because too much exercises can put burden on your system. So yogic postures which provide stretching as well as relaxation are important. Sun salutation can also be done. Bhujangasana is also good for improving kidney function.

4. Massage – According to Ayurveda

The ancient healthcare system of India, the imbalance of Air element ( Vata) is the root cause of many diseases including blood pressure, diabetes and renal failure. To restore the balance of Vata, the best method described in Ayurveda is relaxing massage. Full body massage with anti-vata oils like Dhanwantaram oil is recommended. Once in a week ( for those who don’t afford daily massage) or daily massage with Dhanwantarm oil or Sesame oil is recommended. Massage for 5-10 minutes in the kidney area from the back.

5. Exposure to Sun

The source of natural Vitamin D is Sun or Cod liver oil. Try to expose yourself to Sun everyday for at least 15 minutes to ½ an hour. This is the minimum time. If you can expose for longer period of time, that’s much better. Massage yourself or from a masseuse and relax down in Sun. This will improve your vitamin D levels. The vitamin D not only helps to improve calcium deposition in the bones but also helps to absorb zinc, magnesium from the intestines. These micronutrients are very important for immunity and body’s metabolism.

6. Reduce Artificial Foods

Cutting down on biscuits, soft drinks, packaged food, processed food is recommended if you want to reduce your creatinine and urea levels. Try to avoid “Fire element” rich food. Avoid citrus fruits juices like those of lemons, oranges or jackfruits. These are acidic in nature and can increase urea, creatinine levels. To avoid dialysis in a natural way, try to stick to green vegetables, gourds, potatoes( if not diabetic). Try to boil these green vegetables before consuming them. Wash them properly. It’s really very important to stop drinking alcohol and cut down on smoking.

7. Herbs and Ayurvedic Medicines

There are certain Ayurvedic herbs which can help to avoid dialysis. One of them is Punarnava. There are many people, companies now making Punarnava. It’s very important to have standardized extract based formulation. Other than Punarnava, there is a herb called “Varuna”. Varuna is also known as “God of Water”. The kidney failure is a water imbalance disease and leads to accumulation of water in the body. Varunadi Vati – helps to get rid of water and remove excess urea and creatinine. The product Rencure formula is given along with Punarnava mandur, Varunadi Vati. This contains herbs like Tribulus terrestris, which are also used in Ayurveda to prevent complete kidney failure and reach the stage of dialysis.
