Kapha dosha represents the combined characteristics of earth and water. This represents stability. They tend to be solid and heavy with a large build. They tend to gain weight easily and are generally round and plump. This is the most stable and relaxed dosha. They have a fair complexion and thick, wavy but oily hair.
Common Characteristics of People of Kapha Dosha
People with Kapha dosha generally prefer familiar surroundings. They are slow learners but have the ability to grasp and remember things for a long period of time. They have slow digestion and a moderate appetite. They are usually sluggish and prefer sleeping heavily. They have an appealing appearance and a pleasant voice. They are tranquil and romantic in nature. They are very reliable, loyal and trustworthy and do not get upset easily. They take some time while making a decision. But, once decided, they do not change it generally under any circumstances.
Physical Characteristics of People with Kapha Dosha
The main body parts of this dosha in the body are throat, head, lung, lymph, tendons, connective tissues and ligaments. Kapha individuals have lubricated ligaments and joints, oily skin with less or no wrinkles. They possess thick, luxurious hair and are highly stable emotionally and psychologically as well. They are generally related to cooler body fluids like lymph, mucous and water. They moisten food, store energy and provide bulk to the tissues. They have an excellent level of stamina and a strong build. Lips are pale with large and strong teeth. They have a constant appetite with strong immunity. Nails are also pale and clear as well. The eyes are prominent and moist.
Psychological Characteristics of People with Kapha Dosha
Kapha is characterized by patience, love, greed, forgiveness, mental inertia and attachment. It often helps to reduce the imbalances caused by Pitta and Vata doshas by grounding them with its earthy attributes. They are warm, love routine, caring, self sufficient, strong and stable.
Lethargy, sinus congestion, asthma and obesity are the major reasons of concerns for the individuals with Kapha Dosha. Blackheads, oily skin, cysts, acne, water retention, swelling and edema are some other health conditions of the individuals with Kapha Dosha.
Thus, individuals with each doshas are largely different with highly dissimilar characteristics. It becomes essential for every individual to understand the prakriti and act accordingly to maintain balance within them and lead a healthy and peaceful life.
