The basic metabolic system of the body is controlled and managed by liver and the health of person is directly related to the health of liver. Types of Fatty Liver

1. Due to Alcohol Consumption or Alcoholic Fatty Liver

This situation occurs when the liver become fatty due to consumption of excessive alcohol.

2. Non-Alcoholic or Other Factors

In this situation the accumulation of fats occurs in the liver due to reasons other than alcohol. This may be high blood pressure and cholesterol, obesity, hepatitis, diabetes and malnutrition. Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) comes into existence because of the heavy fat accumulation in the liver which results in the swelling of liver. The condition is fatal and can stop the liver working.

3. Acute Fatty Liver in Pregnancy

The life threatening problem occurs very rare but only in pregnancy. It shows the symptoms of pain in the upper-right abdomen, jaundice, nausea and vomiting.

Symptoms of Fatty Liver

There are no symptoms in the beginning of the disease but some can be seen in later stages, as abdominal discomfort, fatigue, loss of appetite, jaundice, retention of fluid, ascites, bruising and mental imbalance. Also some symptoms are metabolic syndrome, excess body weight, insulin resistance and accumulation of high levels of triglycerides in the blood.

Diagnosis of Fatty Liver
