Action: Ksheerbala oil is a traditional ayurvedic massage oil used to relieve pain in the lower back, sciatica and migraines. This oil is used for treatment of musculoskeletal system related problems. It is also effective in insomnia and giddiness. Good for massage of vata and pitta body types and especially for shirodhara and head massage. It gives nourishment to spinal cord & brain. Bala the main ingredient acts as a neuroprotective herb that shows result in nerves, spinal cord, muscles, joints, brain, bones & other types of connective tissues.

Indication: Loss of consciousness, vata-rakta, vata roga, sukra dosha, rajodosha, karsya, and svarabheda. Used as a rasayana.

Applications: Ksheerbala oil is a head and neck oil that is anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-rheumatic. It is good for vata and pitta imbalance because it is cooling and good for the nerves. This oil is also good for post-natal care (for babies), insomnia, arthritis and gynecological diseases.

Ingredients of this Oil

  1. Balamool (Sida cordifolia)
  2. Ksheera (Cow’s milk)
  3. Sesame oil (Til Tail)

Method of Preparation

Take fresh roots of Bala plant mix it in cow’s milk to make paste. Take Bala kalka mix it with cow’s milk & sesame oil. Boil this mixture until only oil remains. Allow it to cool down & filter the mixture.

This oil shows antioxidant, antiepileptic, anti-rheumatic, anti-arthritic, anti-osteoporotic, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, analgesic, anti-gout, uterine tonic & anti-herpes etc medicinal properties.

Usage: Apply 20 ml lukewarm oil all over the body and massage gently for 10 minutes, followed by bath with lukewarm water after half an hour. The oil is used in panchakarma treatment centers, spas or for self-massage at home. Use herbal bathing powder as body cleanser for best results.
