Takayasu Arteritis is a rare and treatable disease affecting one in 200000 people, of the age group 15 to 40 years. The patients of this disease are almost females. It is a combination of syndromes causing inflammation in blood vessels, also known as Vasculitis. This inflammation damages Aorta, the artery responsible for carrying blood from heart to various body parts and its main branches. The damage may lead to blockage, swelling, tearing, thickening, narrowing or bulging, etc. of artery walls resulting in the improper blood flow.
