High blood pressure is known as hypertension. Blood pressure is the force which is exerted by blood against walls of blood vessels. Blood pressure is determined by the amount of blood our heart pumps and amount of resistance to blood flow in our arteries. More the amount of blood our heart pumps, narrower will be the arteries and higher will be the blood pressure.

The common symptoms of hypertension are headaches, nosebleeds or shortness of breath.
