Amrutadi Churna - Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage

Introduction

Amrutadi Churna is a medicine which is in a powdered form. Amrutadi helps in treating Diabetes and other disorders related to it. Also, it helps in curing rheumatoid arthritis, morning stiffness of joints. The main ingredient of this formulation is Tinospora cordifolia.

Ingredients

  • Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia)
  • Ginger (Zingiber officinale)
  • Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris)
  • Munditika (Sphaeranthus indicus)
  • Varuna Twak (Crataeva nurvala)

Method of Preparation

Firstly, clean all the ingredients. Grind all the ingredients separately into a fine powder and mix them well.

Medicinal Properties

It is poly herbal Ayurvedic powder formulation which is used for various chronic disorders like arthritis, rheumatism, diabetes and kidney stone. It has ability to balance the all three doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) in body. The herbs used in this formulation has properties like adaptogen, immune stimulant, antioxidant, anticancer and antidiabetic. Use of this medicine is very good for pre-diabetic and type-1 diabetic people to maintain normal blood sugar level. It is also beneficial in complications of diabetes such as neuritis. It cleanses bladder and use to treat bladder diseases like dysuria. It helps to reduce the heaviness of body and morning stiffness of joints. It also helps to improve the digestion and strengthen the digestive system. It helps to improve the appetite. Apart from these it is useful in insanity, tuberculosis, indigestion, bronchitis, spleen diseases, anemia, pain in the uterus and vagina, piles, asthma, leucoderma, dysentery, vomiting, urinary discharges, pain in the rectum, looseness of the breasts tissues etc.

Indications

  • Diabetes
  • Dysuria
  • Neuritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Heaviness of body
  • Morning stiffness of joints
  • Acts as a bladder cleanse

Dosage

2.5 grams to 5 grams twice daily with lukewarm water before or after meals as directed by physicians.

Contraindications

  • If consumed in higher dosage, it may escalate the frequency of urination.
  • It should be taken under strict medical supervision.
  • Over dosage might lower blood sugar levels.
