1. Shuddha Gandhak (Purified Sulphur)
Shuddha Gandhak, or purified sulphur, is widely used in Ayurveda for its digestive, detoxifying, and antimicrobial properties. In Grehani, where improper digestion and absorption lead to toxins (ama) accumulation, Shuddha Gandhak helps by enhancing Agni (digestive fire) and eliminating toxins from the intestines. It balances Vata and Pitta doshas, reducing bloating, constipation, and discomfort associated with Grehani. 2. Shuddha Parad (Purified Mercury)

Method Of Preparation
- Grind the mercury and sulfur together, mix with the remaining bhasmas, and triturate for one day.
- Then apply ghee and grind it on a Kadahi (pan) like preparing parpati.
- Spread the mixture on a clean banana leaf to form the parpati.
Indications
Ratnavijay Parpati is effective in conditions such as indigestion, burning sensation, anorexia, constipation with ama (toxins), diarrhea, anemia, leukorrhea, edema, dyspepsia, hemorrhoids, worm infestations, jaundice, cough, respiratory disorders, and other disorders arising from vata and kapha imbalance. It strengthens the body and improves stamina. Even when other applications of parpati fail, this parpati gives beneficial results.
Clinical Use
- In patients with digestive weakness, eating can trigger diarrhea immediately, and food is not retained properly, leading to the passage of 1–2 stools that are hot and watery. Over time, the body loses strength and weight. Some patients may also have mild fever. In such cases, consumption of food without proper digestion leads to malabsorption.
- Feeding this parpati with milk or Takra (buttermilk) before other foods enhances its benefits, providing nourishing effects like nectar. It should never be taken with milk or Takra alone.
- For patients with incompatibility to Takra (buttermilk), those with anorexia, constipation, bleeding disorders, burning sensation, diarrhea, cough, kapha-vata imbalances, or swelling, giving Ratnavijay Parpati with milk helps achieve therapeutic benefits.
- In disorders involving the digestive tract from tongue to duodenum, there are microscopic spots on the mucosa. The tongue appears red with prickly sensations. Stools are large, white or yellow, and hot. Undigested food passes through.
- If the stool is white, it indicates lack of bile, and Panchamrit Parpati should be preferred. If the stool is yellow, Ratnavijay Parpati is recommended.
Note
If fever is high or increases after taking parpati, the dose should be reduced.
Dosage
1–3 ratti 1–3 times a day with honey, with jeera and honey, or with goat’s milk, mattha (buttermilk), pomegranate juice, mosambi juice, or sweet grape juice, or alternatively with Praval Pishti, Amrita satva, Kamal Kakdi Churna, and Belgiri Churna.
