Interviewer: Good Afternoon Dr Vikram.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Good afternoon

Interviewer: Thanks for sparing time again, and I am asking about osteoporosis today because it is very major problem these days in youngster even.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Ya Osteoporosis, it has become very common these days. The reason is the bones. They become very fragile depleted of nutrients of calcium, of the minerals because bones they are replenished by the diet, by calcium, milk and also sunlight. The sunlight is very important. Now, people they don’t go out in sun like in previous days.

Interviewer: Even I don’t get time.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Nowadays, everybody is stuck in the office. Air-conditioned compartments and there is no exposure to sunlight. And it is a very common problem. Nowadays diet is also very it has become nil of nutrients. There are no nutrients in diet, people they just take packaged food. Some noodles, some, people they stress putting stress on children to eat the mineral-rich, or vitamin-rich pills, not natural food. Like some bars, snack bars, some like gummy bears something. Somehow, they are feeding their children with the vitamins. Which causes even vitamin toxicity in them. So, it is not good for them. So, Osteoporosis is mainly metabolic disorder. In which the bone mineral density is reduced. The bones are rich in minerals like calcium and phosphorus. Then we don’t eat them in the diet.

Interviewer: So what are the symptoms one can just notice, if he is suffering from this problem.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: It doesn’t show up, not many symptoms only the general weakness is there, tiredness, and fatigue. But not major symptoms so it is a silent disease. So only accidental checking BMT test, bone mineral test tells that bones are depleting of minerals. So there is one more important thing especially in the females they are more prone to this Osteoporosis, postmenopausal women, after the menopause the ovary stop producing the estrogen and this leads to depletion of the because estrogen is responsible for depositing calcium in the bones. So, if estrogen is not present, then bones they deplete. In men, the testosterone is responsible for that. So in aging men in old age about 60-70 bmt- bone mineral density reduces. But in women, it starts early. So it is very important to take care about Osteoporosis during early ages, early age. In men they should start exercising, women must exercise whatever if you exercise your calcium is directly deposited into the bones. Exercise is very important. Especially during the young years of life.

Interviewer: Good news is that with herbs one can get treated properly and he can live a normal healthy life. Thank you very much Dr. Vikram.
