Atasi Kusumadi Kasaya - Ingredients, Indications, Benefits and Uses

Introduction

It is an ayurvedic formulation mainly used in the conditions of aggravated pitta, bleeding disorders and many gynaecological diseases.

Ingredients and Quantity

  • Atasi puspa (Linum ustitissimum) - 1 part
  • Lajjalu (mimosa pudica) - 1 part
  • Vata avaroha (Ficus benghalensis) - 1 part
  • Vata tvak (Ficus benghalensis) - 1 part
  • Vata ankura (Ficus benghalensis) - 1 part
  • Water - 16 times to all  

Method of Preparation

Prepare the coarse powder of all the ingredients and add water to it. Then it should be reduced to one eighth by boiling. On completion of the process, it should be filtered through a clean cloth and used in Luke warm state.

Therapeutic Benefits

  • Due to its kasaya, sheetha guna it is widely used in treatment of bleeding disorders.
  • The guna of this formulation is very beneficial in gynecological disorders.
  • This benefits in Raktapitta (bleeding from orifices), due to its kasaytwa, sheetha guna and by pitta alleviating properties.
  • It is beneficial in Urinary tract infections and acts as anti-microbial.
  • This kasaya benefits in many gynecological diseases like metrorrhagia, menorrhagia and dysfunctional uterine bleeding where it helps to check the bleeding and improve the condition.
  • This acts as yonidoshahara due to its ingredients and combined effect producing favorability to yoni.
  • This can be used in the patients of Ulcerative colitis when bleeding to check on it.
  • This is very beneficial in case of vaginal prolapse, it helps relieve symptoms.
  • This kasaya is also beneficial in IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome), Diarrhea and hematemesis
  • It even acts beneficial in condition of hemoptysis.
