Carbon Facial, Ayurveda and Yoga Tips for a Wrinkle-Free Skin

A healthy looking and wrinkle free skin is the wish of everyone because it makes them look younger. The trends in the beauty industry keep changing and new technologies keep being developed. A new technique that is now popular amongst mostly women is the Carbon Facial. The new techniques however may not be suitable for everyone and their effectiveness and side effects need to be tested. This article explains what carbon facial is and how it works. Along with that the most effective ayurvedic and yoga tips have been enlisted for a healthy and younger looking skin. At the end herbal remedies developed by Ayurveda experts have been mentioned.

Introduction: Why Do We Get Wrinkled Skin?

Our skin is made of thin fibers made of elastic tissue. The presence of the elastic tissues makes us able to move, smile, stretch and contract our skin. But with age, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles becomes prominent because the elastic fibers of our skin degenerate and are not as effective in stretching and contraction as they were when younger. Wrinkling of skin is therefore natural but some environmental or lifestyle factors can also speed it up or make it worse.

Wrinkled Skin
  • Age: with age the ‘collagen’ i.e. elastic fibers of the skin get fatigued and overused. They do not get back in their original shape as easily as they do in younger individuals.
  • The sun and ultraviolet rays: the ultraviolet rays of the sun are very harsh on the skin and they immediately burn the elasticity of the skin tissues. Using such creams that prevent the UV rays can help prevent the skin damage from the sun to some extent.
  • Smoking: smoking hampers the natural blood circulation in the skin and it makes it thinner and less elastic over time. A person who smokes looks older than he actually is.
  • Overuse of facial muscle: just like any other elastic fibers the skin fibers also get overused and tired. Therefore people who already have thinner skin than many others should take care to take care of the skin and not subject it to overstretching.
  • Overuse of harmful beauty products: skin and beauty products that contain chemicals are extremely harmful for the skin and they do more harm than good. These products are actually responsible for damaging the skin and making it look older.

What Is The Carbon Facial And How Effective Is It?

A new trend in the beauty industry is the carbon facial. It is also known by the names China Doll Laser Facial, Carbon Peel Facial, Charcoal Facial, Black Doll Facial, etc. It is meant to improve the appearance of the skin. It is a medical treatment and not just an ordinary face wash or facial cream that can be used by everyone. It is recommended for people who are facing problems like acne, discoloration, pigmentation, sun damage, wrinkles and aging lines, scars, clogged pores, enlarged pores and dark patches.

Carbon Facial

It is a cosmetic treatment and can be expensive. One session can take 45-60 minutes and can cost around $450. Liquefied carbon is spread on to the person’s face so that the carbon atoms absorb the particles of dirt, oil, dead skin etc. from the face. Then it is left to dry up. Then a solid medium laser is projected upon the carbon atoms which have now penetrated into the deeper layers of the skin. Then the intensity of the beam is increased so that the carbon particles are further broken into smaller fragments. Then the whole liquid content is evaporated using the laser. The carbon atoms are evaporated and along with them the dirt, dead skin cells, oil and all foreign matter. The actual process ends here and then as a final step a soothing lotion is applied on the skin. The eyes are covered throughout the procedure. The brightening and tightening of the skin is seen almost immediately. Some people may report redness which usually disappears on its own within a few hours. This treatment is expensive and requires excess care after the treatment has been done. People with already sensitive skin may have their condition worsened after this treatment.

Yoga Tips For Wrinkle Free Skin

  1. Massage the face with your fingertips applying gentle pressure at all points. Start at the forehead and then massage the cheeks and the chin. Do it for one minute.
  2. Using the tips of the index fingers, start making circles around your eyes. Start at the inner ends of the eyebrows and glide the fingers in outward motion. Make circles with very light pressure. Do so in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions for thirty seconds each.
  3. Using your thumbs press gently near your temples. Apply mild pressure for ten seconds.
  4. Using your index and middle fingers glide the fingertips starting at the temples along the jawline and all fingertips meeting below the chin. Do so ten times.
  5. Simhasana: Sit in any easy posture and breathe in deeply. Now stick out your tongue and exhale forcefully with a loud roaring sound just like a lion. Do it three times.
  6. Neck Rotation: take a deep breath and rotate the neck in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions. Do not strain the body while going. Do thrice in each direction.

Ayurvedic Tips For Wrinkle Free Skin

The traditional Indian medicine is known as Ayurveda which has remedies and harmless tips for all the health conditions. Ayurveda has skin care tips too which are suitable for you according to the skin type you have.

1. Ayurveda for Dry Skin

The skin texture which is dry and rough needs care and moisturization. This kind of skin is less likely to develop acne but more dead skin cells. This face mask will be the best suited for dry skin:

  • Take a tablespoon of gram flour and mix it well with around 60-70 ml of milk. You can also use curd or rose water. Add in a pinch of turmeric and apply the prepared paste on the face and leave it on for some time. Just when it is about to dry up, wash it with warm water. Then pat dry the face and apply a natural moisturizer such as coconut oil or sesame oil. Use this technique once a week.

2. Ayurveda for Normal Skin

The normal or combination skin is neither dry nor oily, but a medium texture having both the qualities of dry and oily. This kind of skin needs the maximum care. It has the tendency to develop bumps and mild acne. The following face care steps are recommended for medium or combination skin:

  • Take a ball or pad of cotton and soak it in rose water. Then pat on the face. Now apply aloe vera gel. Leave it on the skin for some time, around twenty minutes. Wash the face with warm water. Apply a mild moisturizer on the face. It shouldn’t be too thick; otherwise it will stay on the face and will cause acne. Do this process twice a week.

3. Ayurveda for Oily Skin

The oily skin type is the most likely to develop excess oil, white heads and black heads. However, this skin never gets dried and rough which can be seen as its advantage. The following face masks are the best for an oily skin:

  • Mix one teaspoon of honey with a pinch of turmeric powder. Apply this on a clean face and let it sit for ten minutes. Then wash with regular or warm water. You can do it thrice a week.
  • Make a paste of multani mitti or fuller's earth with water. You can also use rose water. Apply it on the skin and let it stay for around fifteen minutes. Then wash with regular water. This can also be used thrice a week.
