Vidangadi Thailam (Oil) - Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage

Reference: Bhaishajya Ratnavali, page no. 814.

Vidangadi Thailam (Oil) is used to treat anorexia, urticaria, itching, ulcerative colitis, elephantiasis, fever etc.

Ingredients

Take 20 gram of each of:-

  • Vayavidanga
  • Marich
  • Arkmooltavak
  • Sonth
  • Chitrakmool
  • Devdaaru
  • Alua
  • Sandhav
  • Samudra lavana (Sea salt)
  • Savarchal lavan
  • Vidalvan
  • Abhodhilavan

Method of Preparation

Take 20 -20 gram of each ingredient. Make the powder of all ingredients and make the kalk with water. Then prepare the oil with taila pak method.

Dosage

6 to 12 gram. It is administered with warm milk or water or cow's urine.

Indications

  • Anorexia
  • Urticaria
  • Itching
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Unconsciousness
  • Fever

Side Effects

Take this medicine only under medical supervision.
