Ingredient Description

Saindha Namak (Rock Salt)

Functions as a gentle Deepana (appetizer) and Pachana (digestive) agent in Ayurveda. It helps soften accumulated toxins, maintains electrolyte balance, and facilitates the downward movement (Anulomana) of Vata Dosha. From a modern perspective, it provides trace minerals that support gastric secretions and aid intestinal absorption.

Nausadar (Ammonium Chloride)

Acts as a potent Chedana (scraping) agent, helping to reduce thick and stagnant Kapha and Ama (metabolic toxins) from bodily channels and glandular organs. Pharmaceutically, it functions as a systemic and urinary acidifier and may support metabolic clearance mechanisms.

Yavakshar (Alkali of Barley)

All the mineral, salt, and alkaline ingredients (Saindha Namak, Nausadar, Yavakshar, Vida Namak, and Rasasindoor) are taken in exactly equal parts and mixed uniformly. This dry mixture is transferred into a clean Khalwa Yantra (mortar-pestle). The freshly prepared decoction (Kwath) of Patolmool is added gradually. The mixture is subjected to intensive, continuous levigation (Bhavana / trituration) for 1 full day until it forms a cohesive, smooth, and easily moldable mass. It is then carefully rolled into small pills (Goli) weighing 2-2 Ratti (approximately 250 mg each), which are shade-dried and stored in clean, airtight glass containers.

Medicinal Properties

For Yakrut Vriddhi (Hepatomegaly)

Agniprabha Vati is traditionally administered in a dose of 2–4 pills with Talmakhana water as an adjuvant. For Pliha Vriddhi (Splenomegaly)
