Classical Method of Preparation

According to the traditional reference:

Take 2½ seer (approximately 2.3–2.5 kg) of high-quality Nepali Chirayata (Swertia chirata).
Coarsely powder (Jaukut) the herb.
Soak it overnight in 25 seer water (approximately 23–24 liters).
The next morning, place the soaked material into a traditional distillation apparatus (Bhabka Yantra or Nadika Yantra).
Distill the preparation carefully and collect approximately 20 bottles of Ark.

The obtained distillate is preserved in clean glass containers for medicinal use.
