Kannikkurkiladi Taila
Introduction
Kannikkurkiladi Taila, also known as Parnājamodādi Taila, is a classical Ayurvedic formulation primarily indicated for Sannipāta Jvara (fevers involving all three doshas). The preparation is based on Narikela Taila (Coconut oil – Cocos nucifera) and enriched with multiple herbal juices and Kalka dravyas that possess Jvaraghna, Shothaghna, and Rasayana properties. Traditionally, it is used both externally (for joint and muscular application) and internally to manage complex fevers and alleviate systemic dosha imbalance. The Malayalam term “Kannikkurkil” refers to Parnajamoda, which is identified with Karpuravalli Patra (Hiptage benghalensis), an important herb in this formulation.
