Vajra Guggul – Ingredients, Preparation, Benefits, Dosage & More

Introduction

Vajra Guggul is a powerful classical Ayurvedic formulation traditionally indicated in severe and chronic disorders involving Vata dosha, Kapha dosha, Ama (toxins), Meda (fat tissue), and Rakta (blood tissue). The word “Vajra” means “thunderbolt” or “adamantine,” symbolizing the strong and penetrating action of this medicine in difficult and stubborn diseases. This formulation contains a large number of detoxifying, digestive, anti-inflammatory, scraping (Lekhana), and channel-cleansing herbs combined with Shuddha Guggul (Commiphora mukul), mineral preparations, and Bhallataka oil. It is mainly used in conditions such as Vatarakta (gout-like disorders), Shleepada (elephantiasis), chronic edema, obesity, splenic disorders, abdominal masses, chronic skin and metabolic disorders, and diseases associated with deep-seated toxin accumulation. Because of its potent ingredients, Vajra Guggul is considered a strong formulation and should always be used under proper Ayurvedic supervision.
