Introduction

Aaragvadhamritadi Kashaya is a classical Ayurvedic decoction primarily indicated for the management of Tvak Vikara (skin disorders) and Amlapitta (hyperacidity and acid-peptic disorders). आरग्वधामृतापथ्याखदिरैः साधितं जलम्।
त्वग्विकाराम्लपित्तार्तेः पेयं देवैर्यथामृतम्।। (Sahasrayogam)

A decoction prepared from Aragvadha (Cassia fistula), Amrita (Guduchi), Pathya (Haritaki) (Terminalia chebula), and Khadira (Acacia catechu) should be consumed in disorders of the skin and Amlapitta (hyperacidity). It is regarded as beneficial like nectar by the wise.

Ingredients

The following ingredients are taken in equal proportions:

  • Aragvadha Phala Majja (Cassia fistula) – Pulp of Indian Laburnum Fruit
  • Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) – Heart-leaved Moonseed
  • Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) – Chebulic Myrobalan
  • Khadira Sara (Acacia catechu) – Heartwood Extract of Cutch Tree
  • Water – Sixteen times the total quantity of the herbal mixture

Method Of Preparation

Prepare a coarse powder (Yavakuta) of the herbal ingredients. Add sixteen parts water to the combined herbal mixture and boil over mild heat until the volume reduces to one-eighth of the original quantity. The decoction is then filtered through a clean cloth and administered while lukewarm.

  • Total coarse herbal mixture: 100 g
  • Water: 1600 ml
  • Reduce to approximately 200 ml
  • Filter and use fresh.

Freshly prepared Kashaya is preferred to preserve its therapeutic potency.

40 ml twice daily, or as directed by a qualified Ayurvedic physician.
