Shilajitwadi Vati

Reference: Ayurved Sarsangrah, Edition 17, page no. 446

Introduction

Shilajitwadi Vati is a natural formulation, available in the tablet form. This ayurvedic medicine is used in the treatment of diabetes. It helps to lower down the blood sugar levels in body. Moreover it helps to balance the three energies – vata, pitta and kapha in the body.

Ingredients

  • Trivang bhasma – 36 gms
  • Shilajit – Asphaltum – 180 gms
  • Neem – Azadirachta indica(Powder of leaves – 120 gm)
  • Gurmar Gymnema sylvestre – (Powder – 120 gms)
  • Swarna bhasma – Calx of gold – 6 gm

Method of Preparation

Firstly mix the shilajit into trivang bhasma and then add powder of rest of ingredients (Neem and Gurmar). Tablets of 500mg are made. To make this preparation more effective, add 6 gms of swarna bhasma and then tablets are made.

Medicinal Properties

Shilajitwadi vati is an Ayurvedic medicine formulated to manage the diabetes and sexual disorders. For diabetes, this medicine helps to lower down the blood sugar levels. It is considered as an effective medicine to resolve the various male sexual disorders. It helps to resolve the various male problems like premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, sexual weakness and infertility. Aphrodisiac action of this medicine helps to improve the libido and enhance sexual desire. In the problem of spermatorrhoea it helps to prevent the loss of semen which generally takes place during sleep or under many conditions. Besides of all this, in males it enhances sperm production and also helps to improve the quality of sperms. To manage the urinary tract disorders use of this medicine is quite good. It works well to manage the problem of frequent urination.

Dosage

Take 3 tablets after every 4 hours in a day with plain water.

Side Effects

This medicine should be avoided in the children, pregnant ladies or lactating mothers.
