Yashad (Jasad) Bhasma – Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage

Introduction
Yashad (Jasad) Bhasma is an Ayurvedic preparation made from zinc which is helpful in treating eye ailments, asthma, cough, and anemia. It helps in balancing Kapha and pitta. It can be used orally and helps in boosting immunity.
Ingredients
- Zinc
- Aloe Vera juice
Method Preparation
Purify zinc and grind them in a fine powder. Now, put it in an iron pan and let it melt. Add powdered Achyranthes aspera and mix well. Triturate this powder with Aloe Vera juice and form round, flat cakes. Put them in a sealed container and heat it at a temperature of 800- 900 degree Celsius for 5 hours. Repeat the entire process seven times.
Dosage
125 mg twice daily after meals with honey, Tinospora concoction.

Contraindications
- Over dosage can cause severe gastritis.
- It should be prescribed by your doctor. Self-medication is strictly discouraged.
- It should be avoided by pregnant women, lactating mothers and kids.
